Gut Check Reactions: Kris Lewie

Violet: Poor Kris Lewie. His in-ring performance was no worse than Alex Silva's. He is no less charismatic than Sam Shaw or Taeler Hendrix. Yet, he's the first Gut Check contestant to be rejected after only hearing from two out of the three judges. While I'm glad that this segment wasn't as formulaic as most Gut Check result segments are, I can't help but feel that Lewie was judged more harshly than former Gut Check participants. I mean, couldn't Bruce Pritchard have said that TNA wasn't right for Lewie instead of saying that the whole damn wrestling business was wrong from him? Yikes.
Poor Kris Lewie

Alex: Kris Lewie wasn't great, but he wasn't as bad as Pritchard made him out to be. I can understand that TNA may not be right for him, but to abandon his dream and get out of the wrestling industry? Shut your fat, stupid mouth, Bruce. While it was good to see them finally say no to someone other than Joey Ryan (who, coincidentally was the most deserving of the contract and has seen the most TV time since his Gut Check), it seemed way too planned. They knew they had to say no to someone soon, so they picked this poor guy. How was he any worse than Alex Silva, Taeler Hendrix, or Sam Shaw? They all got smoked in under two minutes, and none of them looked all that impressive. Gut Check has very quickly become my least favorite part of Impact (minus Joey Ryan showing up every few weeks).
